Black, Blink & Associates is pleased to highlight an outstanding result achieved by Attorney Peter Blink in a Fremont County case involving two counts of Marijuana Cultivation. The client was accused of growing more than 30 marijuana plants on a residential property, an allegation carrying the potential for a misdemeanor drug conviction, 6 to 18 months in jail, and $500 to $5,000 in potential fines.
With the stakes high, Peter approached the case with a targeted defense strategy. He engaged in extensive motions practice and persistent negotiations with the District Attorney, challenging key aspects of the allegations and the way the evidence was obtained and interpreted.
Through this work, Peter secured a dramatic reduction of the charges. The prosecution ultimately agreed to allow the client to plead to Marijuana Cultivation – 6 plants, a far less severe offense compared to the original allegations. As part of the agreement, the client received 12 months of probation, and all remaining charges were dismissed.
This outcome reflects Peter’s skill in both litigation and negotiation. By narrowing the case to a single reduced charge and avoiding jail time, he preserved his client’s record, stability, and future opportunities.
We’re proud to recognize Peter’s commitment and sharp legal strategy that led to this successful resolution.
